Please follow all safety precautions before attempting to remove or replace the drain plugs from the pump assembly. 2. Turn off both the pump and the circuit breaker that powers it. 3. Close all necessary valves to prevent water from flowing to the pump. 4. It is advisable to use PTFE tape to seal all plastic threaded connections. Position the pipe plug with the threaded end facing you and wrap PTFE tape clockwise around the threads. You’ll need at least 2 layers of PTFE tape. 5. Wrap 2 layers of PTFE tape throughout the entire length of the threaded portion. 6. It’s not advisable to use Pipe Dope. Doing so increases the risk of cracking the plastic pipe plugs. 7. It is highly advisable to lubricate the O-rings before installation. This will extend the O-ring’s lifespan.
